Provenance

Given about 1797 by Alexander Hamilton to the United States Bank of Philadelphia. After the bank was dissolved it was given to Morris Ketchum by bank president Nicholas Biddle. Then by descent to Morris Ketchum's grandaughter Phebe Ketchum Thorne, to her son Landon Ketchum Thorne, and to his son Landon Ketchum Thorne, Jr. in 1945.
