This movement represents an early but short-lived experiment with the newly invented balance spring in which the fusee was omitted. The hair-thin spiral spring is attached to the balance, which is held in place by the delicately engraved and pierced cock. There are separate going, striking, and alarm trains. Delander was one of Tompion’s favored casemakers.
