This artwork is currently on display in Gallery 513
These large vessels, which often stood on the floor, were filled with ice water and used to keep wine bottles cool. The handles in the shape of sea horses were probably part of the original owner's coat of arms. The coat of arms now visible is that of William Wyndham Grenville (1759–1834), later Baron Grenville (1790), and his wife, Anne Pitt.
