Supplied with a set of seat furniture by Georges Jacob (1739–1814) for Marie-Antoinette’s boudoir at the château de Fontainebleau. The silvered highlights, such as the pearl motifs and wisps of ivy strung around the two uprights of the gilded frame, reflected the decor of the small room, which featured large mirrors and gold- and silver-colored paneling with delicate arabesques and flowers by the Rousseau brothers.
