This bottle-shaped vase is unusual for its size, and the technical difficulties that it presented are evident in the slight listing of the vase's tall neck. The detailed and beautifully-painted chinoiserie scenes can be attributed to Adam Friedrich von Löwenfinck, an especially skilled painter who left Meissen not long after he decorated this vase.
Marking: [1] AR (in underglaze blue on underside) [2] Cross (incised on base)
