Art Nouveau potter Olivier de Sorra is known for the fine stoneware and crystalline glazes he produced at his factory, Pierrefonds. Molded with stylized foliage and glazed entirely in variegated shades of sky blue and tan with mottled and streaked patterns, this vase represents the technical achievements of the nineteenth century in ceramics.
