Embroidered coverlet

Ruth Culver Coleman American

Not on view

The coverlet is composed of three undyed linen panels seamed together, each approximately thirty-two inches wide. It is embroidered with wool in economy, stem, chain, and darning stitches. The wide floral border is embroidered in shades of blue; the central floral and fruit motifs are in shades of pink, brown, gold, lavender, and blue. The top edge of the coverlet seems to have been cut off.
