The original marble of this composition is in the Morgan Library, New York. Stucco copies, called "squeezes," were frequently taken to replicate popular models and then painted by specialists. The color scheme and decorative impulse recall one such specialist in the service of sculptors, the Florentine Neri di Bicci (1419–1491).
