Inscription: Sticker on underside of base, probably from a catalogue: A beautiful group, representing Joseph and the Holy Family in ancient faience of Bernard Palissy, from Prince Soltikoff's collection.

Marking: On underside of base: boot-shaped smear of brown glaze with dark brown band (probably a kiln mark)
