Marking:  Leopard's head crowned (London assay office mark);  Small black letter f (date letter for 1683–84);  Lion passant guardant (English quality mark for sterling);  W F, double bowknot above, cinquefoil below (maker's mark for William Fowle).
Location of marks: - on interior of base,  poorly striked but legible in all particulars  &  on top of cover.
