These wine flagons bear the mark of a silversmith who supplied many prominent Royalist and high-church clients during the turbulent period of the Civil War. For the sensitively chased floral ornament here, he must have employed a Dutch or Netherlandish artist.
Inscription: (pricked on underside of body, inside foot ring): 60 oz (Weight in troy: 60 ounces)
