Vase

Designer Max Läuger German
Walter Scherf German
Manufacturer Metallwarenfabrik für Kleinkunst

Not on view

Since Sherf's Osiris factory produced numerous designs by independent artists and Laüger's repertoire also included designs for metalwork, it is not surprising that the two should have come in contact. An example of Laüger's vases (see 1991.182.1) included in the Paris Exposition Universelle of 1900 may have brought him to Sherf's attention.
