The silvered decoration alludes to a twenty-fifth wedding anniversary that is commemorated in an inscription on the saucer.
Inscription: Inscribed on cup: [1] Wandle hymen, Euch hold, diese Silber in Gold

Inscribed on saucer: [2] 20 September 1803 / 20 September 1828 / Luise Goldhugen / geb. Ziegler.

Marking: Painted in underglaze blue enamel on underside of each: [1] Scepter (Berlin factory mark)

Stamped in red-brown on underside of each: [2] Imperial eagle above K.P.M. (Berlin factory mark)
