Inscription: Inscribed on the tang of the blade, on the obverse: 應集堂惟清好 / 安喜佐重造之 (Shūdō Korekiyo no konomi ni ōzu / Aki Sukeshige kore wo tsukuru) (In accordance with Shūdō Korekiyo’s preference / Aki Sukeshige made this); on reverse: 明治二年五月吉日 (Meiji ni-nen go-gatsu kichi-jitsu) (Second year of Meiji [1869], fifth month, auspicious day); on the scabbard: 東玉齋造之 (Tōgyokusai kore wo tsukuru) (Tōgyokusai made this); on the hilt collar: 大森英秀 (Ōmori Teruhide).
