Algora was named gunmaker to King Fernando VI (1713–1759) in 1749, but hemay have worked for the royal family in Madrid for several years prior to this.
Inscription: Inscribed on the barrel: GABRIEL A.GORA EN MADRID;

Also on the barrel: three reserves with masks in gold; a square reserve with a stag passant in gold; a reserve with a crown and G.EL ALGO RA;

On the lock: GABRIEL ALGORA MD;

On the trigger guard: the initials FP(?).
