Inscription: Inscribed on the tang of the blade: 粟田口藤原忠綱作 (Awataguchi Fujiwara Tadatsuna Saku) (Made by Awataguchi Fujiwara Tadatsuna); on the knife blade (kogatana): 金花山清長 (Kinkazan Kiyonaga); on the sword guard (tsuba), obverse: 江州彦根住 (Gōshū Hikone Jū) (Residing in Hikone, Ōmi Province [present-day Shiga Prefecture]); reverse: 干英子野村包教製 (Kan-eishi Nomura Kanenori sei) (Made by Kan-eishi Nomura Kanenori).
