Visible retouching. This photograph shows a view up the Saône, with Old Lyon on the left and the Ville Centrale on the right. It was taken from one extremity of the Pont de la Quarantaine, the railroad bridge which connected the Paris-Lyon line with the Perrache Station. Visible in the middle-ground is the Pont du Midi, a suspension bridge; in the background are the Pont d'Ainay and the tower of the church of Saint-Georges. [MD]
