Inscribed on verso in verso: Miss- or her little sister she / be so fond to see some samll frensh child / -she knows and likes so well Mlle Lili, / which she knows from some books; - / well (? or will), nurse make go to France so easily / as elsewhere; she finds herself in a / starecase before the door of a nursery / she opened; There is a little girl, but not / alone; She is disputing with a little friend / about a dull; The other has taken the dull; / and horror! They are spitting at eachother. / -Miss- find this to shocking , she returns / emidiately, and relate the whole thing to / nurse_ "but why did you not try to / make peace between them" Well, answered / our little friend; you see, there sat an / other little girl, with such curious eyes / I think, had I tried, she would fight / me, -so I preferred to leave them alone.
