A old man, distracted by the dulcimer Death is playing, walks to the left unaware of the open grave ahead of him.
Inscription: 'HB. i' added at bottom left and 'WH' added at bottom right, not by Hollar;
'Spiritus meus...sepulchrum, Job 17' added at bottom below borderline.

Marking: Franz Josef II von Liechtenstein (1906-1989) . The Metropolitan Museum of Art purchased 17,000 prints from this collection between 1949 and 1962.
