Inscription: On the mat at the left: "written on previous mat: Abriss der in Regensburg befindlichen Christallinen Gonleuchters so 6 Arme hat und fur so thaler gelassen werden will." At right: "Dr. Berliner says early XIX century ? ca. 1800; never say [saw?] anything like it."

On the verso in pen and brown ink (in German) is what is transcribed above onto the mat, (although I think there are several mistakes).
