Inscription: At upper center, inscribed "THEOS" (in Greek letters) in pen (or brush) and grey ink, by the artist. On the rim of the central figure's dress: "CERUM MAGISTRA" in pen and black ink, by the artist. Verso: at lower center, inscribed "gift of Mrs. Beulah/Dimmick Chase", and, at lower left, inscribed "by/J. Goeree" in graphite (20th-century handwriting).
