Another inscription added on attached piece of paper, pasted at bottom of sheet, in pen and brown ink: - V'la vot' déjeuner not' pratique...deux sous de fromage et trois sous de journal...il est bien fort ce matin!... / - Oui le gruyère...il me semble assez vieux pour ça!...(à part) Jadis l'épicier servait du fromage frais entouré d'un vieux journal, aujourd'hui il vend du fromage passé sur un journal tout frais...il n'y a pas compensation! (- Here is your lunch, as always: two sous worth of cheese, thre sous worth of newspaper..pretty strong stuff this morning!... / - Well, the gruyere cheese seems quite old! (aside) In the old days the grocer sold fresh cheese wrapped in old paper, nowadays he sells old cheese in a new paper... makes no sense!
