Design for the decoration of a tobacco box with a rectangular central scene showing a painter, a student and a model in a painter's studio. The figures are all rendered as dwarfs. The scene is surrounded by a decorative frame containing strapwork in a pattern of candelabras. On top two sphinxes are depicted supporting a platter with fruit.
