Inscription: Each slab inscribed with a title in clerical script followed by a short comment and signature of inscriber in running script. Two marble slabs housed in the same wood panel are also inscribed with a line of Tang poetry:

Inscribed by Yibai Shanren. Square engraved intaglio seal mark "Yi yin".

Inscribed: (on the rectangular slab)
Duck Peak in Deep Cloud
Inscribed by Zhushan jushi in Shanghai. Square engraved intaglio seal mark "Mei yin".

Inscribed: (on the round slab)
Strange Peak in White Clouds
All the white clouds guarding the strange peak. Signed Zhushan. Square engraved intaglio seal mark "Yibai yin".

Inscribed: (on the rectangular slab)
Reeds on the Sandbank
Inscribed by Yibai shanren in Shenbu (Shanghai). Square engraved intaglio seal mark "Mei yin".

Inscribed: (on the round slab)
Autumn Mountains in Mist and Cloud. In the distance it looks like mist and cloud; as you get near you see that it is the void.

A Magical Tower after Snow. The snow-covered cliff in the sunset looks like a jade screen.

Morning Mist in a Spring Forest, inscribed by Zhushan jushi. Square engraved intaglio seal mark "Yibai yin".

Overhanging Cliff and Sheer Wall
Inscribed by Yibai shanren at Sheniiang (the Whangpoo River at Shanghai). Square engraved relief seal mark "yibai yin" (from catalog card).
