Chandler Rathfon Post. A History of Spanish Painting. Vol. 5, The Hispano-Flemish Style in Andalusia. Cambridge, Mass., 1934, p. 331, fig. 107 (detail), attributes this panel to the School of Oña and describes it as a section of a predella from Ameyugo, northwest of Burgos; compares it to a retable of the Apostles from the church of San Pedro, Tejada (north of Oña); comments that "the incisive and virile characterization of each saint reveals that the predella was executed by one of the members of the group who approximated most closely the manner of the greatest exponent of this phase of painting in the province, the Burgos Master".
This panel depicts the Saints James Major, John, Peter, Paul, Andrew, and Bartholomew.
