Inscription: Arabic inscriptions are in "thuluth" script (in Turkish known as "sulus"). The inscriptions on the finial are illegible. The inscription on the obverse of the coin: "Sultan Mahmud son of Abdu'l Hamid Khan, may his kingdom be everlasting. Made in Constantinople 1223 A.H."; reverse: "Sultan, son of Sultans, Khan, son of Khans," etc.
