Some objects glazed with the mina'i technique bear nonfigural decoration. The design on this bowl consists entirely of an abstract repeat pattern. Because of the painterly quality with which it is executed, this pattern looks something like mosaic glass. On the exterior, an inscription in Arabic bears good wishes to its owner.
Inscription: In Arabic, in cursive naskhi script; on exterior, below the rim: "Glory, power, prosperity, victory and triumph, happiness and safety until the last day to the owner of this bowl." (Old information, source unknown)

On the exterior there is an in Arabic in naskhi script:
العز الدائم و الاقبال الزائد و النصر الغا[لب] ... القائم و الدولة و السعادة و السلامة و البقاء لصاحبه
