The scenes depicted on this lock are set into an architectural setting that is compressed into a small space. The keyhole for the lock is immediately below the figure of Christ in judgment, who is in the center composition at the very top. Saint Peter is located at the left, with the raising of the dead. At the right is the mouth of Hell with figures descending into Hell. The composition is an extraordinary tour-de-force of iron casting and presentation.
