Kartal
The flat surfaces of these clappers are slapped together in one hand to accompany folk dance and devotional singing. Found in a wide range of shapes, lengths and decorative motives, most kartal provide a small opening in the side to accommodate the thumb, and a larger opening in its companion piece for the fingers.
