Found in the burial chamber of Tjeteti, a vizier of the late Old Kingdom, this basin and its accompanying ewer (26.2.14) may have have been used by the deceased during life for washing his hands and feet. In the tomb, they would have allowed Tjeteti's spirit to cleanse itself before meeting the gods.
