Discovered in the Palace of Apries at Memphis, these pieces of scale armor may have been used for gauntlets. In five cases, scales of copper alloy were adhering to iron scales, as if armor of both materials had lain against one another.
Excavated by Flinders Petrie for the Egyptian Research Account and the British School of Archaeology in Egypt at Memphis. Received by the ERA and the BSAE from the Egyptian government in the division of finds. Allotted to the Museum for its support, 1909.
