The inscription on this statuette identifies an overseer of priests named Ameny whose father was named Nebankh. The offering text mentions the god Sobek of Shedet, suggesting that the statuette is from the Fayuum area where this god was worshipped.
Previously owned by Dikran Kelekian (d. 1952). Purchased by Albert Gallatin from Khalil Rabenou, 1955. Gallatin Collection purchased by the Metropolitan Museum from Mr. Gallatin's estate, 1966.
