Core Tablet

This core tablet was removed from a core made on a tabular piece of raw material. The platform is multifaceted, the bulb of force is moderate in size, and the termination is feathered. The platform measures 2.7cm x 0.6cm. The dorsal flake scars are lateral, initiated from the left lateral margin. There are also additional scars running perpendicularly down the left lateral edge of the piece, which would have been the side of the shaped core. Many similar examples have been found at the flint extraction and blade production sites of Wadi el-Sheikh and Wadi Sannur (Briois and Midant-Reynes 2014, 2015; Köhler et al. 2017).
