The entire outer border is in pen and ink. The outer upper edge of the plumes (upper left) is also made up/reinforced in pen and ink. There are three areas of expert repair, to the right of his beard, left of the lower edge of the plume and to the left of the letter ‘D’ from ‘DITTO’.
