Glass short-strip mosaic vessel fragment

Roman

Not on view

Translucent cobalt blue, turquoise blue, and honey yellow, opaque white, and colorless.

Thin-walled curving body fragment.

Short-strip mosaic pattern formed from sections of composite canes set randomly together: one cane in cobalt blue ground with white circle surrounding a central white rod, and another consists of strips of cobalt and turquoise blue; other canes combine these colors with honey yellow and colorless in patterns that are too fragmentary to reconstruct.

Polished exterior; pitting of surface lines between canes on exterior; dulling, pitting, and slight iridescence on interior; weathering on all jagged edges.
