Kitty Miller was a personal friend of Mrs. Vreeland's, but she also represented an ever-present ideal of style for Mrs. Vreeland. As much as she came to associated with advanced style and forward fashion in the 1960s, Mrs. Vreeland admired the classic elegance, restraint, and traditional good taste of women of society such as Kitty Miller and C. Z. Guest.
