Summer Intensive—Art and Film: A Hands-on Digital Filmmaking Workshop (Ages 15–18) For students entering grade ten and above
Free but students must apply. Enrollment is limited. Applications must be postmarked by Thursday, June 10, 2010.Offered in collaboration with the New York Film Academy, this program invites students to create their own short films. Focusing on aspects of the Museum's collection, students work in teams to write, direct, produce, and edit their films. Art Explore Plus—The American Chair (Ages 11–14) Spend the first hour of the class in the galleries exploring works of art with a Museum educator and the second hour in a classroom creating a hands-on project. All materials are provided. After the class, enjoy the Museum galleries with your friends and family until 9:00 p.m.!Examine the fashions and changing technology of American seating furniture from the seventeenth to the twentieth century, and then design your own mini chair.
