Parent–Child Workshops (ages 3 through 6) Fall Semester 2009 Art programs for children of Members at the Family/Dual ($190) level and above offer children the unique experience of learning about art and creating their own works in the Museum. These classes are designed to provide adults and children with an opportunity to explore and discover art in a studio setting as well as in the Museum's galleries. All gallery visits focus on visual art concepts: line, shape, color, pattern, texture, balance, and form. Activities include painting, collage, sculpting, building, viewing works from the Museum's collection, and listening to related stories and fables.

The Observant Eye The Observant Eye is a series of interactive seminars for recent college graduates and young professionals living in the New York City area who wish to further their knowledge and understanding of the visual arts. Art of the Grand Tour A Grand Tour of the continent—and of Italy in particular—became necessary by the eighteenth century to complete any cultured Northern European's education. Travelers eagerly acquired art and antiquities as mementos of their visits; a look at the Museum's holdings of these "souvenirs" includes ancient Roman sculpture, statues by Canova, and paintings by Panini, Batoni, and Canaletto.
