Stillman, 1922 This work has been deaccessioned from the Museum’s collection because the Museum has two superior examples each of the artist’s late work and of the theme of women engaged in handcrafts, as seen in this work. The work has not been exhibited in the American Paintings and Sculpture galleries for more than 20 years. In accordance with the Museum’s policy, due to the value of the work (est. $1.2-$2 million) and the fact that it has been on exhibition in the Museum in the preceding ten years, public notice is being given that the Museum plans to dispose of the work via public auction.
