The central area of this quilt's top is appliquéd with a large eagle of brown calico, topped by twenty-six dark blue calico six-pointed stars. The shield on the eagle's chest is made of appliqued red cotton fabric stripes on a light blue fabric.
The foliage beneath the eagle is of a brown and blue print. The central area is surrounded by four pieced borders. From the center outward, they are a sawtooth border of red and white, a wider sawtooth of pink and white, a zigzag of medium blue and white, and a sawtooth of red and white. Quilted parallel lines follow the border patterns, while the central area is quilted with hearts and stars. The backing is of plain white woven cotton.
