Card and backgammon table

American

On view at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 747

The upper playing surface of this rare tripletop gaming table is inlaid with patterns of backgammon and chess boards; the lower one is lined with baize for playing cards. Otherwise, the table is characteristic of a small group of New York card tables with bold serpentine fronts.
