The ideal woman of the years between the wars was slim and agile, with taut skin and cropped hair. Liberated from the corsets of her ancestors, she rarely adopted their postures. When she did, as here in Parry's studio, she could be alluring but rarely voluptuous, for she lacked the generous shoulders and ample flesh of yore.
