This photograph was probably taken by Evans using a camera belonging to one of his companions.
Two woodcuts by Jacques appeared in the December 1924 issue of The Dial. The following appeared in the magazine's "Notes On New Contributors" section: "LUCIEN JACQUES was born in Varennes in the Argonne in 1891. He has been an engraver on wood, a weaver of raw silk, a sculptor in ivory and in wood, and a designer of jewellry. He now lives at the Cyprés St. Jean, Grasse, France, and edits the Cahiers de l'Artisan. There is an increasing demand for his work as an illustrator. His poems have appeared in Les Humbles."
