Façade of the Church of the Santi Apostoli, Decorated for the Memorial Service of a Member of the Pignatello Family
View of the facade of a church, identified on the print as the Santi Apostoli. The whole facade has been decorated for the occasion of a funeral, most likely the funeral of Diego Pignatello who died in 1750. Over the entrance, a cartouche with a Latin inscription has been placed. A rocaille-cartouche containing the coat of arms of the Pignatello family is hung on either side of the cartouche. Another crest, divided in eight parts and with a mise-en-abyme pattern in the center crowns the whole facade.
