Star-Shaped Tile

13th century
Not on view
The arrival of the Mongols in Iran provided new ideas to further develop and change techniques and styles elaborated under the Seljuqs. Noticeable are the introduction and re-elaboration of new motives, such as soft, feathery leaves, lotus and peony flowers inspired by the Chinese repertoire.
