Bowl

Designer François-Emile Décorchemont French

Not on view

The Met purchased this extravagant glass bowl, with its discrete yet somewhat disturbing snake motif, directly from Émile-Jacques Ruhlmann’s pavilion at the 1925 Exposition internationale des arts décoratifs et industriels modernes . It was probably part of a large selection of glass and ceramics displayed in the entrance hall.
