Joan Miró Spanish

Not on view

Ink lines and biomorphic shapes create a quiet dreamscape in this painting on wood, part of a series Miró did after suffering a nervous breakdown (1929–31). The picture belonged to the Surrealist poet and writer Georges Hugnet (1906–1974), the author of Miró; ou, L'enfance de l'art (Miró; or The Childhood of Art, 1931).
