Made of fine gray earthenware, models of drums, houses, and other necessities for the afterlife are found in brick tombs dating from the second century B.C. to the third century A.D. The use of such tombs and the introduction of pottery models illustrate the impact of Chinese culture that followed the annexations of northern Vietnam under the Qin dynasty in 211 B.C., and the Han in 111 B.C.
