Model boat

Middle Kingdom
ca. 1981–1802 B.C.
On view at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 112
This model funerary boat was composed in modern times from ancient elements. Not all of these belonged originally to a boat model: the tall standing figure is actually a separate funerary figurine that bears the name Ukhhotep. This name can also be found on the sides of the chair of the seated figure.
