Musician with a lute or harp
Late Period
Small bronze figures of priest/officiants or cult performers appear most often in the Late Period or onward, usually intended to accompany a group around a god, although certain types are cast directly to miniature offering tables.
This figure is quite rare in depicting an individual who is a musician, playing what appears to be a lute or possibly a harp. The god Bes is associated with music, and occasionally with musicans (see terracotta 23.6.79), so possibly the figure could have belonged to a grouping with that god.
