Vessel fragments

Third Intermediate Period

Not on view

These gilded silver vessel fragments are part of the "Tell Basta Treasure," found in 1906 at the site of Tell Basta. Most of the objects found were metal and pottery dating to the Ramesside period (ca. 1304–1200 B.C.). However, these pieces are thought to be later in date. They bear fragmentary inscriptions in raised hieroglyphs that read ". . .Khepri" and ". . .weary ones."
